HFH Summer Camps is thrilled to debut our Summer Day Camp program at Camp Wakonda—located an hour outside of New York City in Harriman State Park—home to 31 lakes and reservoirs, campgrounds, beaches, and an abundance of wildlife. Participants will partake in an action-packed schedule where they dive into exciting activities, make new friends, and create unforgettable summer memories.
From the moment our young explorers arrive, they are welcomed by staff who are committed to ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging experience. Each day includes a mix of swimming, hands-on activities, and team-building fun. Under the guidance of our certified WSI Waterfront Director and CPR- and First Aid-trained lifeguards, the kids enjoy a structured swimming program featuring both instructional and free swim time.
Beyond the water, they rotate through two exciting activity periods, featuring a variety of engaging options including:
- Arts & Crafts
- Outdoor Adventure
- Team Building & Sports
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Camp Wakonda attendees will also get to join in on the carnival celebration alongside our overnight campers—bringing the entire camp community together for a day of laughter, games, and excitement.
Participants of HFH’s Afterschool & Recreation day camp programs will have the opportunity to embark on field trips to Camp Wakonda throughout the summer; “Family Days” will also be offered to select HFH family residences.
