Laura Henrich has been instrumental to the success of HFH Summer Camps. Laura has been a director with HFH Summer Camps for over 20 years. A legend in the camp world, Laura has been with HFH Summer Camps since the beginning. She served as director of Camp Lanowa when it was run by Pathways for Youth, the organization that operated the site before HFH Summer Camps. In 1992, when HFH Summer Camps became the sole operator of the site, Laura stayed on as director.
The summer of 2017 was the last summer Laura shared with HFH Summer Camps. She will be missed by both staff and campers, but the impact she has made to our camps program will live on. Laura helped build the Teen Leader program, facilitating a leadership council with campers who showed leadership potential and a love for being at camp. She worked closely with all her campers, building trust, providing guidance, and ensuring our campers have an amazing experience at Lanowa. Her love for outdoor cooking provided campers the opportunity to learn a fun skill. She also supervised a tie dye project, which was a hit with our campers, giving them an outlet for their creativity and a memory they could take with them after camp. Laura has left a legacy at camps that will continue through the various activities and projects at Camp Lanowa that will go on, even in her absence.
We congratulate Laura on her new adventure. We thank her for her dedication to our mission and, most of all, to our kids.
